"My Friend, My Shield"
My friend, my shield, in me confides/Such pain he bears without a sign/ The shadows that his smiles hide/ I'd take his pain to make it mine.
I never knew his wounds inside/ The ones, if kept, would never heal/ Though many odds and time divide/ I'd take his pain to less the feel.
So long he has been cast aside/ Abuse sustained to heart and mind/ I'd take his demons, tide by tide/ and with this soul, them all I'd bind.
I'd stake his vampires, and all who lied/ and hurt his gentle, fragile soul/ Consider the nightmares past and died/ No longer would their thunder roll.
No longer would he have to hide/ And sift away like desert sands/ I will not beg, I will not chide/ If he'd put his pained heart in my hands.
